Deleted Items Folder
Is there any reason why Incoming e-mails would go into the Deleted Items
Folder when the recipient has NOT put the Sender in the Blocked Senders List? This has happened more than once to e-mails I've sent to a friend (she had to remove my name from the Blocked Senders List, but she hadn't put it there). Then recently it happened to another friend, he discovered e-mails from a friend of his were in the Deleted Items Folder. |

Only Blocked Senders, Message Rules and some spam programs can cause this.

This person wouldn't have put the person in Blocked Senders, and he has no
clue what Message Rules are (therefore wouldn't put the person there). By spam programs, do you mean anti-spam programs? And where/how could he "search deeper"? "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... You have no idea how many people have posted here that they accidentally
added an address into Blocked Senders. (AKA, not on purpose). Have them check to be sure. Find and remove a Blocked Sender address: OE | Tools | Message Rules | Blocked Senders List | Highlight the first address on the list | Click: Modify | Type in address you want to remove. Prompt: "This address already exists, are you sure you want to replace it?" Click Yes. The address will now be at the top of the list. Remove it. He has no clue what message rules are? Do you? Can you explain them to him? And by a spam program, I do mean an anti-spam program. Some can send mail to Deleted Items. By search deeper, I meant that these three things are the /only/ things that can send messages to Deleted Items. Search deeper ment to double check all three of these possibilities. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Joy" wrote in message ... With a message open it is quite easy when in a rush to click on the wrong option on the Message dop down menu. -- Hope this helps. Oh, I knew to have him look in the Blocked Senders list, and he did find
that name, along with two others, and I told him how to remove them, and he did, and he's now a Happy Camper. I thought you meant there was some other explanation. Yes, I know what Message Rules are, but to set one of those you have to deliberately go through the various menus to get there. He says although he has an anti-virus program he doesn't have an anti-spam program. He knows now that he'll have to periodically check his Deleted Items for Incoming Mail that accidentally winds up there (before permanently deleting). And if he finds any, to go to Blocked Senders list. "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... You have no idea how many people have posted here that they accidentally added an address into Blocked Senders.
