Paper-clip symbol in Inbox, but no attachment
Whenever I receive an HTML email in my Inbox it has the Paper-clip symbol in
the Inbox listing even if the HTML email has no attachment. What could be causing this? I am using WinXP SP2, Home Edition and Outlook Express 6. |

I don't have "Read messages in plain text" selected but I do use AVG email
scanning, and I'll bet the latter is the culprit. However, I guess I'll just have to live with the Paper-clips, because I want to keep the AVG scanning. Thanks for your reply. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have the most recent virus definitions. Reinstall AVG and choose Custom Mode. Uncheck E-mail Scanning when you see that option. For some reason, just unchecking it in the security center causes a conflict with the Windows Security Center. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Sunny" wrote in message ...
