Express will not save or open attachments

My Outlook Express will not open any attached files (pdf, doc, etc.). It
will not save any attached file to any directory but returns the message -
"There is an error saving one or more of the attachments. Please check your
free disk space and try again." Other then that the e-mail works okay.
Attachments can be sent on outbound mail without any problem.

Outlook on the same computer works fine and saves and opens attachments
normally (Adobe Reader opens all pdf, etc.). Internet Exploror works fine
and all downloads save to disk. Security is set to medium, computer is on a
network and internet is connected via cable thru a modem and router. The
firewall is Zone Alarm. Outlook Express on all other computers on this
network work normally.

What setting in Outlook Express on this one computer do I have wrong?

Hi there, in Outlook Express have you tried clicking on
ToolsOptionsSecurity tab, then see if there is a tick in the box that says
"Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a
virus", if so Remove tick...good luck...Richard
