e-mail scanner
Hi just installed AVG antivirus free software...should I set it to scan
incoming e-mail messages or is this not necessary with OE? Thanks, John ===================== |

No. You should never use e-mail scanning with OE regardless of the program.
And with AVG, it is advisable to install it in Custom Mode and opt out of e-mail scanning at that point. You may end up with a conflict with the Windows Security Center otherwise. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "John Brown" wrote in message ... You suggest reinstalling - why?...all I wish to know is if its best to have LinkScanner checked or unchecked if anyone has views? I have installed AVG 8 on two computers. I used the "Custom" install, and deselected email scanning during install; as Bruce recommends. I don't have any LinkScanner message on either installation. I'd recommend doing as Bruce suggests, and reinstall AVG8 without the email scanning module. ================= Don't you have any mention of LinkScanner on this AVG page?:- http://tinyurl.com/5k8y7r |
