Default fonts problem

Sometimes I use chinese font to compose email and my friends have no
problem receiving them. However when I go to the "sent items" box in
the Outlook Express and find the old existing sent email, those that
have chinese fonts will display question marks instead.
Does anyone knows why and How can I change the question marks symbol
back to the chinese font that I originally composed?

thanks!
