Hi. When I try to download newsgroups I get the cannot find server message.
My internet provider is o2.co.uk

The full text of the error message would help.

But that most likely means that you have the wrong name for the news
server. Check with your ISP for the name of their news server, if they
even offer one.

Since you posted successfully here using the Microsoft news server, your
OE and overall system seem to be working OK for newsgroups.
