Attaching photo files to OE
We have recently got new computers with XP Home and new Outlook Express
(Version 6). When we write an e-mail and attach photo files, OE adds the picture to the text portion of the e-mail (embeds it). All we want to do is send the JPEG file as an attachment. I have tried to find a method to turn this "feature" off but have failed. Suggestions |

What you describe is standard procedure.
As far as I know you cannot change it. Andy I. "C. Moore" wrote in message ... : We have recently got new computers with XP Home and new Outlook Express : (Version 6). It is not embedded. It shows a copy /after/ the text of the message. What
other people see is dependent on their e-mail client. You can turn off the option to see the graphic on your machine, but not someone else's. The only way you could do that would be to attach a folder containing the graphics. For your computer only: To prevent graphic attachments to be automatically displayed in messages you receive, either set to read in Plain Text, or see: Outlook Express Slide Show OE5, OE6 http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/slideshow.htm -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "C. Suggestions This is standard in OE The important point is to always reduce the photo size for sending via e The easiest way is to right click on your photo and select "send to " and then select "mail recipient" . A window then opens and you select he smallest size and the an e mail opens with the photo attached Again the photo is also shown in the text By holding down ctrl you can select a batch of photos Blair |
