Problem with "Open" for e-mails as attachments

I briefly tried Word Perfect Mail as my e-mail client [operating on W2K]. It
didn't take more than about 2-3 days to realize that it was not viable for me.

I was able to get OE my default e-mail client within seconds. What I STILL
have yet to be able to get reset is getting Outlook Express's "Open" to work
for attachments as it did before.

With e-mails as *attachments* to other e-mails [such as what is done when an
AOL user tries to forward an e-mail], selecting "Open" would - before WP Mail
- cause that e-mail attachment to open in the standard 'view' window. This
no longer functions (actually, nothing happens when the "open" selection is
made). So, in order to view an e-mail sent as an attachment [even though
generally it will only be viewed a few seconds], it must be saved to the hard
drive, dragged and dropped back into Outlook Express, then viewed in the
Preview Window (or double-clicked to open a standard viewing window), then
deleted.

When WP Mail was set as the default e-mail client (before I uninstalled it)
e-mails that were attachments in e-mails I received responded just as Outlook
Express used to handle them (when selecting "Open" instead of "Save", it
would open in a standard e-mail window in WP Mail).

While WP Mail was still on my hard drive, but no longer my default e-mail
client, when selecting the "Open" option, the attachment-e-mails would open
in WP Mail. [Yes, even with OE set as the default e-mail client.] So this
problem is with an independant setting, different from which e-mail client is
the default. It is an "Open With" issue, but when I took a
hard-drive-located e-mail message, and chose "Open With" Outlook Express, the
program opened, but the message was not displayed at all. The ONLY way to
get to the information is to drag the file back into OE and then select it
(either double-clicking, or using the preview window).

Is there a registry setting (or other way) to get this returned so that
selecting the 'paperclip' attachment, clicking the item, selecting "Open"
will again open e-mails that are attachments in other e-mails?

As I'd said in the original post, "...but when I took a hard-drive-located

but the message was not displayed at all."

So I appreciate the thought, but this didn't work when I tried it before, or
when I just tried it again.

Any other thoughts or ideas?

Thank you 1000 times!!! Works like a charm!

I'm not sure which character(s) I omitted when I did my search of the
Microsoft database, but I am SO thankful that you checked and found this for
me.
