Cannot get into OE

I have one main email address on my outlook express that I use regularly. I
wanted to add a new one and now I'm unable to open OE. My Bit Defender comes
up instead with "bdoe.dll Link Library has encountered a critical error" and
"do you want to send feedback". I can't get in it at all.
Can someone please help.

Also when I do add another email identity, what do I put in for incoming and
outgoing (POP3, HTTP)
Thank You,
Michelle

Disable e-mail scanning in BitDefender (assuming you can still load that
program's UI to change its options). Then retest.

Whatever settings the UNIDENTIFIED e-mail provider says to use.

Is the new address one that's already in use and has a webmail page where
you can access your messages?

....now I'm unable to open OE.

Disable BitDefender's email scanning. It provides no additional protection
and even Symantec says it's not necessary:

QP
Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that
are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans
incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and
email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To
make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep
Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have
the most recent virus definitions.

HTTPMail works both ways, if you have a Hotmail account that is eligible for
use with MSOE.

If you use POP3 for incoming, you most certainly must use SMTP for outgoing.
I could only tell what those server names are under two conditions:

1. You informed us of which email service, or ISP you are using.
2. I looked up on their web site under their help pages.

You could just as easily do that last as anybody else. So just do it, and
you will learn what settings you are supposed to use. Straight from the
"Horse's Mouth", so to speak.
