Default OE "Hangs" when I Open it

Hi Team

I have recently installed Nortons Internet Security which seems to have
affected OE. When I open OE it appears to 'freeze', it downloads incoming
emails OK, but I can't click on any or open them. Similarly, if I do click on
one it takes about 5-7 minutes for the email to open. When I try to close OE
an error message appears saying, "this program is not responding".

Can someone please advise how to correct this very annoying error.
Appreciate any assistance.

The entire error message would help, but........................

Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer
of protection that eats up CPUs and causes a multitude of problems such as
time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program will
continue to protect you sufficiently.

If still no joy, get rid of Norton and get your money back.

I recommend using AVG Free:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

or:
http://www.grisoft.com/doc/40/lng/ww

When prompted, choose Custom Installation and *uncheck* e-mail scanning when
you see the option.

Norton (and McAfee) products are not Outlook Express friendly, and I don't
know of any OE-MVP that would recommend using them.

Norton s**ks. And, it is often hard to remove via Add/Remove Programs.

To remove Norton completely, see:
