Default Unable to send e-mail

Hi:
I can receive any e-mail this morning. However, I'm NOT able to send any of
my e-mail, seeing the following 'error' message popping-up after few
hesitation.

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.comcast.net',
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

How to remedy this problem? I need to e-mail this morning.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Bruce Hagen:
Thanks for your help ALWAYS. I really appreciate your help.

This morning, I finally called and asked my ISP, Comcast. The tech. who is
handling 'security' told me over the phone, ... along with your suggestion,
'from 25 to 587,' it's also needed to put 'check' mark, Authorization by
clicking 'Servers' at the top. Now, everything is fine and I immediately
e-mailed few e-mails that went into 'Outbox.' It's a such relief!

Thanks again, Bruce H.

MaleE.

Default Unable to send e-mail

Just spent a frustrating hour with Concast who instsit that the inability I
have to receive emails via Outlokk Express is due to an update that Microsoft
did either to Outlokk Express or to Windows XP or to the secuity settngs.

This happens on two PCs, both Windows XP. Doesn't matter if virus
protection on (tried it both ways). I have already changed my port setting
to 587. Did that two weeks ago and everything was fine, then this morning
(12/13) the following error shows up:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'feld hell contest', Server: 'mail.comcast.net',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Comcast says since I can retrieve emails from the web (at comcast.net) then
it is not their problem. Does Microsoft have an answer?

I aprpeciate your time.

David
