I have Time Warner Roadrunner internet service and use a Bellsouth e-mail
address, which I access through Outlook Express. Every time I reboot, the Incoming server is changed from the one for Bellsouth to a bunch of numbers. Is this being done by Roadrunner? How do I prevent this change? |

Numbers like: 127.0.0.1? That is usually caused by scanning e-mail, or an
anti-spam program. Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending and receiving, and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for lose of messages. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Note that for some AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the program and reinstall in Custom Mode and uncheck e-mail scanning when the option arises. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "RY" wrote in message ... What Bruce said.
Are you also a Bellsouth subscriber (e.g., dial-up or DSL)? RY wrote: I have Time Warner Roadrunner internet service and use a Bellsouth e-mail address, which I access through Outlook Express.
