![]() Hi Everyone, I have reason to believe that there are left over files from , deleted old e-mail accounts that I have previously removed from Outlook Express 6, on my WinXP Pro SP3 computer. How can I tell which Outlook Express folders are left overs and not current? I'm asking because a lot of Outlook Express folders, and Identity's are numbered and not named. Thanks. -- your friend, Larry |

Look at the GUIDs for your current identities. (The long string of letters
and numbers). Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer or, copy and paste it into Start | Run. In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View. Following the path to the message stores, you will see multiple Identity Folders. The ones with a GUID that does not match any of your current identities GUID are the obsolete ones. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "leoliver" wrote in message ...
