Default PLEASE HELP -------- how can I show addresses when....

Hello. I'm a new user of Outlook Express v.6.0. I need help with the
following:

I sent an email to a friend. They replied and in my inbox under the "from"
column it appears to show my friends id name instead of their email address.
Is there a way so that when someone replies to my emails that it shows their
email address instead of their id name that they apparently have set up from
their end.

This is particularly important for the times that I will send an email to a
"customer" at their email addres (e.g. ) but when they respond
it will appear that the email is coming "from" jessica. The problem is I'm
familiar with my customers "email addresses" and not their id names. I hope
I made sense. Thank you in advance. Rochelle.

What you see is how they are sending the mail. OE can't change that, but
Ctrl+F3 will show the address.

Default PLEASE HELP -------- how can I show addresses when....

Thank you for your response. Ctrl F3 did work.

So can you tell me the easiest way to "forward" the original email message
to the original recipient? For example, I sent an email to a customer who
claimed they didn't get it. So I went into my "sent" box and I see the
email. I then highlight the specific email and click on the "forward" button
that appears on the toolbar. The next thing that happens is a window popups
and a blinking cursor appears next to the "to:" field. At this point I run
into the issue of not being able to scroll down previous emails because as I
mentioned previously, their ID name appears instead of their email
addressess. And I believe if I just copy and paste their id name then it
will be in error. Normally in Yahoo, I would just scroll down and then copy
and paste their email address into the "to:" field.

So with that said, what are the steps in order to do what I want to do...?
Thank you. Rochelle.

Is their address in your Address Book? Click on the To at the left of the
blinking cursor, find their address and add it in the top box.

Hi Rochelle,

I don't know if this will be helpful.

With the message in the Sent Items folder open it is possible to right-click
on the To: name, select Properties and then select and copy the address.
This can then be pasted on the To: line (after clicking Forward) before
resending.

Even easier than that, with the sent message open, simply click on the To:
name to highlight it and use Ctrl-C to copy, or right-click on the name
and click Copy. Even though you see a name, there's actually an addres
link underneath. Then click the Forward button and paste into the To:
box.

No their address is not in my address book and thats the way I would prefer
it because I would only be sending an email or two. I could see the
potential of my address book getting overloaded and out of control especially
I'm not the type to do a monthly "maintenance" of my address book. But I
will take your Ctrol F3 advice. Thank you again.

Hello. Thank you for your reponse. I just tried doing your suggestion and
it worked. I just noticed "Gary" gave me another suggestion as well which I
will try. Thank you for your advice. I just wish their was a way that when
someone sent me an email or replied to my email that there email address
would appear in my inbox under the "from" column rather than their id name.
Thank you again.
