Is this error and solution unique to Outlook Express? That is, could your
solution work for other apps getting script errors?

I couldn't say for sure. There are many script errors and not just for
printing. You would have to ask in the newsgroups for the other apps.

Yes, absolutely marvellous, you fixed it immediately, I had spent ages trying all the help sites.

Just going to bed at 11.30pm GMT and thought I would just look at messages,
now I can sleep more relaxed. Noel Hargood Windsor U.K.

It's a common solution for script errors encountered when printing in IE,
OE, and OL.

Ok, thanks.

Is there something similar for applications getting script errors when
trying to display help messages (and I think IE is involved)?

In OE go to: Tools | Options | Security and set OE to the Restricted Zone.
That should remove active scripting and do away with the error messages.

In IE: Tools | Internet Options | Advanced. Check: Disable Script Debugging
for (Internet Explorer) and (Other).

From IE's Help:

What should you do about Internet Explorer script errors?
In most cases, you can ignore them. Script error messages are displayed by
Internet Explorer when there is a problem with the Javascript or VBScript
code on the website you are viewing. Occasionally a script error can be
caused by an error in downloading a webpage, but more often it is an error
in the webpage itself.

To be sure it isn't an error in downloading, refresh the webpage by clicking
the Refresh(F5) button . If the error persists, and you are not a developer
testing a website, you should click No to ignore the error.

To avoid script errors in the future, you can turn off script debugging in
Internet Explorer. Script error debugging is turned off by default. If it
has been turned on, follow these steps to turn it off again.

To turn off script debugging in Internet Explorer

1.. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet
Options.
2.. Click the Advanced tab.
3.. In the Settings list, under Browsing, select Disable Script Debugging
(Internet Explorer) and Disable Script Debugging (Other), and then click OK.
