scam email

i just received an email addressed from one of my friends and signed by his
wife.

it's the first time i have received one of these.

it's a scam email asking me to respond so they can give instructions for
forwarding money to them because they are "stranded" in nigeria on some type
of goodwill mission. it's so poorly written, it's laughable.

does microsoft have a site where i can fwd this email to them for
investigation or is there another site for this?

thank you.

That isn't even spam. It is just a hoax e-mail that has probably been going
around for years. A lot come out of Nigeria and I doubt anyone would be
interested.

Same way they got yours. Harvested from newsgroups, lists, websites you
signed up at...etc.

Lots of ways. Ever forward a joke or such and leave all your addresses
visible to people that don't know each other? Along with addresses from
previous forwards? One of those people may have spoofed you.
