I frequently receive mail with the .EMAIL suffix and cannot read them using OE. Does anyone know
which program opens these messages and how do I get it to work with OE? I have IE6 and XP home. I asked this same question in another newsgroup 2 days ago without a response. I hope someone in this group can help. Thank you, Jim Y |

This type of file extension is opened with MS Outlook (not to be confused
with Outlook Express). To view, save the attachment somewhere....then rename it using a file extension of eml this generally works. "Jim Y" wrote in message ... You just have to register the .email extension with MS Outlook Express, and then MSOE will open the file as an email message. If you can right click on the file icon, see if you get the "Open With" option in the menu. If you do, be sure to check the "Always Use" box in order to register the file type. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

A .email (or .ema) or .ezm file is an alternate file extension for an
..EML file. One option is to save the attachment, then rename with an ..EML file name. Or you can create a file association for .email, .ema or .ezm files. You can get to File Associations via: - My Computer - View (Win95/98/NT4/Me) or Tools (Win2000 or WinXP) menu - Folder Options (or Options) - File Types - New Type - New - Action: OPEN The application used needs to be: "C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /eml:%1 Content Type (MIME) should be: message/rfc822 -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Jim Y" wrote in message ... I do not have any of those .EMAIL suffix emails at present. I have been deleting them as they appear since I could not read them. I saved the messsages from each of you for when I do get another .EMAIL message. When the next one arrives, I will try your instructions. Thank you, Jim Y |
