Default email too big and can't be scrolled horizontally

I received an email that is too big for the screen and cannot be scrolled
horizontally to read that part on the right-hand side. Why can't it be
scrolled over? What causes this in the first place?

Probably an error on the senders end. They may have used a word processing
program to create the message and then paste it in the e-mail.

Check the message source, (Ctrl+F3), and see if you can read it there.

Bruce,

Yes, I can read it that way though it needs to be cleaned up because this is
the way, for example, that it shows up:

The content of this White Paper is deliberately intended to stimulate thoug=
ht and discussion.=C2=A0 Informational analysis comprising global security,=
national security of the United States of America, socio-political-economi=
c forces as a dimension to national security, culture, freedom in human rig=
hts, defense and the rule of law are considered within the framework of thi=
s treatise.

Thanks,

Jack

Other than Bruce's answer...if you do a Control A to highlight
the message...do a copy and paste into Notepad, you "may" get
the message in its entirety. It worked for me once. If it is a
screen capture or scanned "image" file and not an actual text
file it most likely is not complete and you wont be able to read
the right-hand side "cause it ain't there".

You could try opening it in your browser.
You can't drag it directly to your browser.
Use Forward as attachment first (Alt-M,d)
and then drag that (.eml attachment) to your browser.

Why can't it be scrolled over? What causes this in the first place?

Probably quirks in the HTML used in the E-mail
and deficiencies in OE's HTML support.

Jack

Good luck

Doug,

Yes, that worked -- I pasted it into Word 97 and it conformed to the
margins. Also pasted it into OpenOffice Writer 2.4 but the text again went
off the page on the right -- although it recognized the left margin, it paid
no attention to the right. Interesting.

Thanks.
