Windows Live Mail
How can I disconnect Windows Live from my Outlook Express? I find it very
annoying when I try to send something and Windows Mail comes up. Any help will be appreciated, thanks. |
Windows Live Mail
Please clarify.
Outlook Express is a part of XP and earlier Windows versions. Windows Mail is a part of Windows Vista only. Windows Live Mail is a substitute e-mail client that /you/ download and install. (XP and Vista only). With that in mind, what is your OS, what is happening, and what do you want to happen? -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "g -rains" wrote in message ... I am using Windows XP and don't even know how Windows Live got on here
instead of my regular Hotmail. When I am on a web page and go to file, then send as... Windows Live comes up and takes over instead of Outlook Express. "Bruce Hagen" wrote: Please clarify. The I assume you are referring to Windows Live Hotmail and not Windows Live
Mail? (There is no Windows Live). Try making OE the default e-mail client. The first link may be all you need, but I included other options. Make OE the default e-mail client: http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx For links in e-mail: http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx And: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098 Restores OE to the E-mail clients list in Internet Options http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/oe_client.htm If you have MS Outlook installed, also see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#13 "Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work Using Outlook Express as Default: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098 Multiple browser windows open when you click on a mailto: link: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/MailtoProtocol.htm Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Set Program Access and Defaults | Custom + Down Arrow | Select the radio button for Outlook Express. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "g -rains" wrote in message ... Windows Live Mail
Bruce, thanks for answering.
I am running WindowsXP media edition. I don't know how Windows Live took over my Hotmail. When I am at a web page and want to send it, I click on File, send... and then Windows Live takes over instead of my default mail, which is outlook express. I want Outlook Express to handle such e-mailings. "Bruce Hagen" wrote: Please clarify. Outlook Express is a part of XP and earlier Windows versions. Windows Mail is a part of Windows Vista only.
