Forwarding and Reply All
When you get a Forwarded email if you Forward and answer back, do all the
original recipients receive this or does this only happen if you use Reply All? TIA |
Forwarding and Reply All
What does "Forward and answer back" mean?
If you reply to the forwarded message (using Reply to Sender), only the Sender will be sent a copy of it. If you replay using Reply All, everyone to whom the Sender had forwarded the message will be sent a copy of it (assuming the Sender didn't send via BCC). If you Forward the message to others, everything in the message body (including all previous TO and FROM addresses will be included in your message but it will only be sent to those you've chosen. Thanks PA Bear.
Am I correct in thinking that all the email addresses in a Forwarded message can be gathered by harvesting software but not any BCC addresses? "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote in message ... If you're referring to a message that had been forwarded to you, yes. If
you're referring to a message you forward to others, no, not necessarily. B.W. wrote: Thanks PA Bear. I feel I may be getting into complicated areas here that I probably won't
understand, but why is that so? TIA "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote in message ... If you're referring to a message that had been forwarded to you, yes. When you Forward a message via BCC, the addresses in the BCC field are
"harvestable" from your copy of the sent message (in Sent Items folder), but not from the recipient's copy. Similarly, the addresses in a message that had been Forwarded to you via BCC are "harvestable" from the Sender's copy of the message (but not yours). PS: If any of the addresses you put in the BCC field are in your Address Book, they're "harvestable" from there, too.
