OE6 - broadband - PC startup - 'unconnected'
 

[I suppose I'll never understand DSL connections, or at least the way
tiscali handles it: As far as I'm concerned, you're not "dialing a
connection" when you're using DSL, it's just "always on."]

I notice that one of my Comodo applications, BOClean Antimalware, is very
active on startup. Don't think it was like that before. No conflicts
reported by Comodo with OE.

OE shares/uses IE's Connections settings (IE Tools | Internet Options
|
Connections | LAN Settings (in your case).

problem the fact that OE doesn't connect, the fact that the Network

The fact that you probably did NOT disable (a) Comodo anti-virus &
firewall, (b) any/all real-time "system protections" afforded by
Trojan
Hunter (if any), Ad-Aware, and/or Spybot and (c) did not enable
the
Windows Firewall prior to installing IE8 may have caused your
current
OE
problem.

NB: There is no OE7 or OE8.
