There is no such thing as Outlook Express 7, so elaborate on what Windows
version the new machine has, and what e-mail client.

You know, I've been looking around for ages, trying to find MS Outlook
Express 7. To date, the search has been disappointing. Usually turns out
that the user who has "OE7", actually has "MS Internet Explorer 7", but that
does not include an email client. User is still on, and forever will be on,
"MSOE6".

Install the old drive as a secondary into the new computer.
Then import from the old message store.

Good luck
