Affect in what way? OE6 has nothing to do with IE8 so why would IE8
affect it?

The answer to your question is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Go ahead and install IE8. You will enjoy the experience of it.

I may be mistaken, but I thought when I installed IE6 that OE6 was installed
along with it.

You are correct in that respect but OE6 is no longer developed and so there
is nothing after OE6.

If you are after "latest OE6" then you need to search for Windows Live Mail.
It is far better than OE6 and moreover, it allows you to read your hotmail
account without using your browser.

If you install IE7 or IE8, IE6 will still be on your machine, you just
won't see it. OE6 will not be affected at all.

Some have seen problems with font size after installing IE8.

Font size in what? OE6 or IE8 or both? I have not experienced any visible
problems and most of my systems are still running P III running on 512 MB
ram.

If OE6 has problems then clearly people should move to Windows Live Mail
which is very similar to OE6 slightly better!
