Is it possible to open Outlook in Calendar (default Mail) by clicking on the
icon.

yes.

Select File to get into Backstage. Select Advanced (left side). Setting is
near the top where you can set "Start outlook in this folder:".

2010 is still Outlook, so the question is ok here.

As of last week (or the week before), the forum you name that was previously
dedicated to Office 2010 beta has been marked "archived" and the new forum
collection is called the "Microsoft Office for IT Professionals" forum
collection.
