Windows XP SP3, Outlook 2003 SP3 with Contact manager

Yesterday I noticed something strange. If my friend sends an email message, it comes through fine. But if he adds an attachment, only the attachment comes through. Any text he typed in the email message does not appear.

Any thoughts?
