Why do Outlook folders and emails disappear !!? HELP!

Why do Outlook folders and emails disappear !!? HELP!

I have Office 2003 on Windows XP: I create personal folders, move emails in,
and all are gone later (didn't even shut off computer). Inbox emails also
disappear and I believe I've correctly disabled the Auto Archive. I am a
business and this is a serious loss of needed emails and information! Please
assist.
