LDAP Address List
I have a situation to ask. it may seem trite, but it's a question of aiding
in usability. Our organization is using MS Outlook 2003 and an SMTP Mail Server that supports LDAP. In Outlook, we have an Directory configured to query our LDAP server for email address lists. When a user clicks on a new mail, clicks on the TO button and starts typing the first letters of a users name, the list does not scroll to that user. For example: If I was looking for "George Johnson" and started typing "ge" in the box, the list is not filtered. Users have to scroll down. Our LDAP directory is filled with 1000+ users and scrolling can take a while. Is there a way to enable this sort of Intelligent Autofill kind of thing with an LDAP directory? With an Exchange Server (Active Directory), I know Outlook does this for the user. I'm looking for advice on how to make this more user-friendly and involve less scrolling. Thank you. |
