Hi,

One of my clients has a visually impaired person working for them.

He qualifies as 'legally blind', but still retains sufficient vision to be
able to use a PC, with a very large screen, and uses a standard keyboard,
but has brail points on them to assist with the touch of the keyboard.

He has requested 2 related things;

1. To be able to change the font in the message reading pane, to a larger,
serif font.
2. To be able to change the font when a message is double clicked to open it
in it's own window, to a larger serif font.

Apparently he finds it easier to distinguish serif rather then sans serif
fonts.

I assume that this is doable, but I can see no easy way of doing this, from
the menu ? Is VBA required to make the change ?

Does this user have large fonts installed in the Windows fonts settings?
What are the accessibiity settings this user is using under Control Panel?

Hi,

Both the user, and my self have fiddled with the accessability settings, and
find that they don't help with his specific request.

He uses the very large monitor, TV sized monitor, so he can still have a
1024x768 reolution display, but things are big enough for him to be able to
read them, without having the monitor act as a window to a larger virtual
display.

After talking to him again yesterday, what he would really like to be able
to specify, is, that no matter what font the mail message defines / uses,
that Outlook always displays the message in the preview pane, and when
opened by double clicking, as 'New Century Schoolbook', and preferably
always at 12pt, which is the font type face & size he find easiest the
distinguish and read. And if possible to remove any bolding, underline,
italitcs so it displays as standard text.

As a second option, he would prefer to be able to set it always use any
serif font.

I can't see any wat to do this ? But can't help thinking, this can't be the
first visually impared person to ask for such a thing ?????
