absolute as opposed to relative links auto-insterted in emails
Is there a setting which causes a linked file in a MS Outlook email to
be referenced like this server name file://\\civic\itsgroups$\Project Office\Projects\505 EDMS Project\02 Investigation\Steering Group meeting minutes\EDMS Steering Group Minutes 060515.doc Rather than like this (with the drive mapping) and therefore less useful if the mapping is not the same between sender and receiver in a large organisation with differently mapped drives but all files running of the same server. file://G:\Project Office\Projects\505 EDMS Project\02 Investigation\Steering Group meeting minutes\EDMS Steering Group Minutes 060508.doc |

If they used the Windows mapped drive letter then that gets used. If they browsed the Network Neighborhood to find the host (and shared drive) by its hostname then that would get used. -- __________________________________________________ Post replies to the newsgroup.
