How do I set up Outlook for email without losing contacts
I am trying to set up my Outlook email as my main email address to be able to
use for personal and business emails. Is there something special I need to do? I already have contacts in Outlook that I have made into different categories for my personal and business use, I had already changed from OE to Outlook but after reviewing my contacts folder I seemed to have lost my contacts that I had entered already. Does anyone know what happened. The only contacts I seemed to have is the ones I had in my address book from OE. Did I need to have entered my other contacts into an address book? I am totally frustrated at this stage of the game. I love Outlook for all it can do, but this email situtation and contacts have me totally baffled. Thanks for any help. Lorraine |

To be honest with you Gordon, I can't remember how I did that. All I know is
after changing from OE to outlook all my previous contacts were gone. So I restored my computer back to the week before. After I did that, I went back into Outlook to check everything, my contacts were all there in addition to my address book from OE. All I remember doing is importing from OE to Outlook. I use a Verizon Wireless Broadband/National access card to access the internet, and that is all I use to connect to internet. I love using Outlook as a manager, helps me get through the day, and would love to use it for all my emailing, any suggestions. If outlook was not installed on my computer I could not use the program correct? For your answer, yes I am a blonde when it comes to computers. Have a great day and I appreciated the response from you. Lorraine What version of Outlook? Have you enabled your Contacts folder as an address book on its "Outlook Address Book" Properties page? Do you even have the Outlook Address Book service installed in your mail profile? -- Brian Tillman |
