Duplicate Email

Hi all,
I try to set up 2 different accounts (with different server type) in
the same profile. when I start the send/receive, I got duplicate for
each of the email.
What I m trying to do is to setup 2 different connection path to the
same Exchange Server. The reason behind is to prevent the downtime when
there is a VPN access point outage for the remote user.
Herewith is how my outlook 2003 account looks like.

1. Account 1: Outlook -- VPN -- Exchange Server
2. Account 2: Outlook -- Internet -- POP3

Is there anyway to prevent the duplication email? or is there anything
that can meet my will?

Regards,
Wisley

You could (temporarily, perhaps), remove the POP account from the
send/receive group so that it does not attempt to download anything. You
might also consider an IMAP account for the second one. Then messages will
stay on the server.

This behavior sounds perfectly normal to me. You are checking the same
account twice. I guess you could manually de-select the POP account
checking, so the user would have to do it manually, but I don't think I'd
use this setup. Is it likely that your VPN will fail but your POP won't, for
some reason? Under what circumstances? Port blocking at remote locations,
perhaps?
Do you use Exchange 2003? If so, RPC over HTTPs is a lot better.
If you don't, you might check out an SSL VPN appliance (SonicWALL makes
some, as do others). These use port 443 for VPN.
