I have wasted loads of time trying to solve this problem. Using
Outlook 2003 on Windows XP Home Edition. I have two Personal Folders in my file list that I can't get rid of. I use a pst file and root folder called Davids Folders. I would like to get rid of all other folders in the Folder List. The two Personal Folders are exactly the same. Any changes to one is replicated in the other. They both belong to the original Outlook.pst file. I know this because if I remove the Outlook.pst file they both stop working. If I go to File Data File Manager, I can only see one file, which is the one I have set up called Davids Folders. This is the default mail delivery file and it is working fine. I have closed all other data files from this window (inlcuding Personal Folders) and hence would expect them to have been removed from the folder list in Outlook. If I Right Click either of the Personal Folders Close "Personal Folders". I get "The Operation Failed. An object could not be found." Any help would be most appreciated. David. |

You have a corrupt Profile.
Use the mail applet in the control panel to create a new profile, then add the data file and your accounts to it wrote in message oups.com... I have wasted loads of time trying to solve this problem. Why did you waste so much time?
This question answer have been posted countless times here. You have a corrupt Outlook profile, probably from migrating your data file incorrectly. Just create a new profile and migrate your data correctly. Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer: http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...771141033.aspx -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] wrote in message oups.com...
