Default Outlook 2003 on XP MCE using an IMAP profile fails

Hello All,

I am using XP MCE that has been modified to join a domain. I have
installed Outlook 2003 on this machine, and am trying to configure it
to use our corporate email server, via IMAP.

The system has all updates for XP, MCE, and Office installed.

The issue is that I am unable to successfully log into our email server
using my profile in Outlook. The UI shows no error message; it just
continually asks me for my username and password. Eventually I just
have to click 'cancel' and use outlook in 'offline' mode.

Turning on logging in outlook shows that my login attempts fail because
of an invalid username or password. The configuration is using
AUTH=PLAIN.

Please note I am logged into my laptop using my cached domain
credentials.

While logged in via the domain account, I can successfully use the same
credentials in Outlook Express 6, and via a simple test app written in
Java. Only the outlook profile fails.

Interestingly enough, if I log into my laptop using a local account, I
can successfully create and use an IMAP profile with outlook 2003,
outlook express 6, and my sample java program.

Does anybody have any ideas as to why I cannot use an IMAP profile
while logged in via the domain account? That seems to be the only
difference between the two scenarios. All software installed is
available to all users, and both accounts are in the Local
Administrators group.

Thanks for any assistance,

Chirag
