By "Norton", do you mean Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security, or some other Symantec product? of the fact that I am using wi fi and a router, just will not let me connect to server. The fact that you're using WiFi and a router shouldn't be contributing, but it's possible. Can you open a command prompt window and ping the AOL server? Can you telnet to port 110 or 25? -- Brian Tillman |

Brian,
Had to disable nortons firewall, then it worked think this should be added to all Microsoft help pages as it has been an incredibly long frustrating period so easily corrected. simply had to reconfigure Firewall after. Simply because Nortons is the biggest firewall system. Ok dont mention
nortons just say somewhere in Microsofts step by step guides 'you may have to disable any firewall, and the re configure it'. Thought that would be a helpful suggestion.
