What's the easiest way to set up newsgroups (such as these) to run in
Outlook. I believe you it takes an add on, right? Does anyone have
any they recommend? Any open source ones, etc?

As add-in, I can recommend NewsHound from ShoreLine software
(http://www.shorelinesoftware.com).
It also works rather well with Outlook 2007 B2TR.
