I have just restored my mail file after my machine crashed. I have
Outlook 2003 on win xp. I am able to send and receive mail. However when I am starting a new email and click on the "to" field, there is no email address show up on the select names box. I checked the "contacts" section, all my contacts are there. I try to add a new contact but the new contact is not showing up on the select name box either. I think the link might be broken or missing. Any help is appreciated. Thx. - tony |

Select your Contacts folder, click 'Properties', goto the "Outlook Address
Book" tab, and make sure the "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" checkbox is checked. If the checkbox is unchecked and grayed out, you need to add the Outlook Address Book service. To do this go to 'Tools|E-mail Accounts|View or change existing directories or address books|Next|Add|Additional Address Books|Next', select Outlook Address Book, and click next. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287563/en-us Contact information does not appear in the address book in Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003 Hal -- Hal Hostetler, CPBE -- Senior Engineer/MIS -- MS MVP- Print /Imaging -- WA7BGX http://www.kvoa.com -- "When News breaks, we fix it!"
