Contact Link Lost
Exporting data to a .pst file, then importing it breaks all contact links. The article at http://www.exchangeadmin.com/Article...rticleID=22254 has a reconnect script that should get you started.
If the contacts are in a folder other than a user's default Contacts folder, you will have to adapt the script to search in that specific folder. The function at http://www.slipstick.com/dev/code/getfolder.htm should help. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.turtleflock.com/olconfig/index.htm and Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Joe" wrote in message ... Hi, This scenario has been created by migrating Public Folders to a new SBS server. (FYO. The old SBS server is fully decommisioned). We have successfully migrated all exchange data from the old server to the new by exporting to and importing from .pst files. Our sales team when creating new appointments have added contacts that are located in a public folder. Now when they drill down into the contact's details in any given appointment the link is lost. When I remove the contact from the contact field in the appointment and add it back I am able to drill into the contact's details. Since there are thousands of these appointments and Journal entries we are reluctant to do this for every occurance. Does any one know of a quick method to relink the missing contacts? Thanks, Joe |
