I have just installed Outlook Express 6 on my laptop...but for some reason it
is not sync-ing with my Outlook 2000 running at my office. Emails are not showing up on my laptop if already displayed (not necessarily opened) and vice versa. For example, I now have (2) New/Unread in my inbox email on Outlook 2000 that there's no corresponding new emails since it was already displayed on my laptop via Outlook Express 6. How do I remedy this out of sync problem? |

What do you mean? Outlook Express has nothing to do with Outlook. They would
never "sync." -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "PJ" wrote in message ... Thank you for replying. I'm sorry for the confusion...I guessed I used the
wrong terminology. When I created my email accounts with Outlook Express, it automatically took all of my "folders" created on Outlook 2000 at work...if one has nothing to do with the other, then how does it know to copy my folders set up? My problem is that once the email is received in my Inbox on Outlook 2000 (new, and still unopened in my Inbox) at work it will not display these same new emails when I open Outlook Express 6 on my laptop? You are mistaken. When you set up Outlook Express, it would not and could
not take anything from Outlook 2000 at work. What you actually did is anyone's guess, but OE could do no such thing automatically. Perhaps you set each program up to use the same email account. Is that what you're trying to say? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "PJ" wrote in message ... Thank you for replying. I'm sorry for the confusion...I guessed I used the wrong terminology. Well, yes, I'm trying to read the same email accounts! And YES, it
automatically set up all my FOLDERS (mind you, these are imap accounts I'm talking about, for example, I have different category folders set up within the Saved folder for each of my email accounts). And these same folders were automatically set up when I created each email accounts via OE6 on my laptop (same accounts as on my Outlook 2000 at work) - I did not set them up myself...only once when I created them in the original Outlook at work! It automatically duplicated all my folders when OE email accounts were set up. Does that help you to help me?? ![]() So can you answer why my emails received are not the same whether viewing via OE6 or Outlook itself? Once the new emails come into my Outlook, it will not show again on my OE on laptop - even if I never even opened the email to read - so it should be in my NEW INBOX...but it's not... UGH! No. Not at all. You are asking about Outlook Express and how it supports
IMAP. This has nothing to do with Outlook and this is an Outlook group. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one of these newsgroups: microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlooke xpress for OE 5.x http://support.microsoft.com/newsgro...-us;newsgroups microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlook express for OE 5.5x http://support.microsoft.com/newsgro...-us;newsgroups microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlooke xpress for OE 6.x http://support.microsoft.com/newsgro...-us;newsgroups microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE http://support.microsoft.com/newsgro...-us;newsgroups If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source for all the microsoft.public newsgroups). The links under the newsgroup references are for use with MS's web newsreader (not exactly the best way to post but it works for some people) Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found he http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/ -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "PJ" wrote in message ... My first impression is that you're using IMAP to access the mailbox in one app and POP to access it in the other. He might also have Exchange Server at work with Outlook 2000 set to deliver
to a Personal Folder. OE would pick up the Exchange mailbox folder structure, but show only those messages not yet delivered to the .PST. Not sure what you're theorizing here since OE cannot connect to Exchange
Server. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Hal Hostetler [MVP P/I]" wrote in message ... He might also have Exchange Server at work with Outlook 2000 set to deliver to a Personal Folder.
