URGENT HELP!!!!!
Hi There,
I am trying to fix some problems our company is having with the e-mail system. we are using Microsoft outlook 2000. the problem is..... We use the same server for incoming and outgoing mail. eg. mail.xxxxxxxxx.co.uk, the problem is we can all (8 of us) receive mail but we can't send it. we have tried the firewall but no ports or programs are blocked. it must be something in our building as when I went home I set up my work account on my laptop and could send and receive it from there. This is urgent, so all help would be appreciated. Regards |

Exactly what happens when you try to send? -- Brian Tillman |

Can you please provide an error message and/or error number please? Your
message is a little too vague to troubleshoot. Also, remember to check the application event viewer. -- Kathleen Orland Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ http://www.howto-outlook.com/ "John" wrote: Hi There, I am trying to fix some problems our company is having with the e-mail system. we are using Microsoft outlook 2000. the problem is..... '0x800CCC08 INVALID_STATE' description N/A and nothing else but this could
also mean message download incomplete. Normally you can only sent mail from servers you directly connect to i.e. internal to your ISP or servers you have to authenticate on i.e. supply name/password. This is done to stop spammers and mail relaying. Check that first you are properly authenticated to your SMTP server, if so then check with the server admins of the server giving you this error. You may also want log into and check your ISP webmail to see if you can send using that method. -- Kathleen Orland Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ http://www.howto-outlook.com/ "John" wrote: it's saying that we can't access the mail server and giving an error code. 0x800ccc08 "Brian Tillman" wrote in message ... John - "mail.xxxxx.co.uk" designates an smtp server - receive mail - the
counter part to send mail would be something like "pop3.xxxxx.co.uk". "John" wrote in message ...
