Is this the right group to post this question? I am having difficulities
accessing OWA using the mail.companyname.com, but I can access using
companies ip address. Suggestions please.

microsoft.public.exchange.clients might be able to help you (since they
handle OWA), tho it sounds more like a DNS issue which would best be likely
handled by whoever administers the DNS for companyname.com.

Before posting over there, you'll verify that no users can use it, or if
only some users can't use it, and also include the version of Exchange.
