Default How can one backup emails when outlook express has a problem ?

Hi,
Friend has outlook express that wont display emails in right hand pane,
also if you go file (top left menu), it freezes,.so unable to go export
emails.
Needs a re-install...however, how can he back up his inbox , sent items,
address book
before attempting to reinstall outlook express ?
How should he reinstall putlook express. PC came with progs on from PC world
years ago and without discs for winXP and office !

I suggested he try M'soft Outlook, it looks like it will save such files
from another prog, it mentioned outlook express but then he could go no
further as it said run setup and add remove features, something missing. Of
course he hasnt the install disc as mentioned. Warranty out now by a year or
so :-(

Hi - unfortunately, you're in the wrong newsgroup. This is a group to
support Microsoft Outlook (part of Microsoft Office). Outlook Express is a
part of Internet Explorer and is an entirely different program, despite its
similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group. Try
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlooke xpress

If this group isn't carried on the news server that's carrying this group,
try using news.microsoft.com as your NNTP server.

A good website for information on OE is http://www.insideoe.com/

For Outlook Express support, you'll want to ask in the
microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general newsgroup.

What said run setup? Huh? Are you talking about an Office install disc, or
are you still working with OE here?

Go to Options Maintenance Store Folder and you will see where the
current data file is located
