Outlook 2007 with SBS
Hi
We have just ordered a Dell sbs 2003 R2 server. Is it likely to come with Outlook 2007? If not is there any way to add Outlook 2007 to the network? Most client pcs have office 2003 and we would like Outlook 2007 to circumvent the outlook security warning when sending emails. Thanks Regards |

If not is there any way to add Outlook 2007 to the network? You may order Outlook 2007 separately or as part of an Office 2007 license. (I suggest an appropriate Volume License purchase) "Adding to the network" is a little problematic as the deployment technics of Office 2007 have changed. If the computer has an up-to-date anti-virus program running, external programs can automate the Outlook 2007 object model to send messages without triggering security prompts. If your external applications use Simple MAPI or CDO 1.21 to send messages, those methods are not affected by this new Outlook 2007 model. You could still suppress them, though, with settings in a public folder or, new to Outlook 2007, with GPO.
