Address Book in Vista
I copied my Address Book frm Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 in Vista and found
that the names were no longer sorted by last names, but by full name, e.g. John Smith instead of Smith, John. Is there any way to correct this and restore the sort by last name? |

Since Outlook does not even have or use an address book, one must wonder
what you actually did. State more accurately what you actually did to migrate your Outlook data from one installation to another. State how you configured the sort order for the address book view in the new installation. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Don B." wrote in message ... Russ,
I merely copied Outlook.pst from Outlook 2007 in Windows XP to Outlook 2007 in Windows Vista on my new computer. The address book is what pops up when one clicks on the "To" or "CC" when addressing email. I believe it is an offset of the Contacts list in Outlook. With WIndows XP the list of addresses was sorted by last names. In Vista it is sorted by full name, i.e. by the first name. Don "Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook]" wrote in message ... Copying the file is not enough, and placing it in the wrong location will
corrupt your profile. Where did you copy the file and how did you connect it to your current profile? Have you tried just resetting the sort order for the Outlook Address Book Service? Tools Accounts Outlook Address Book Change. Set your sort order there -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Don B." wrote in message ...
