Outlook 2007 Changed the Way Assigned Tasks are Updated?
We assign tasks. In OL 2003, when a task owner changes something in
an assigned task, such as the due date, an email which updates the task is sent to the assignor. The assignor then has to double click the email which then changes the task in their folder to match the task in the asignee's folder. It appears that in OL 2007, it all works the same, EXCEPT, the updating email that comes into the assignor's inbox is processed automatically: the task is updated and the updating email dissappears. I like to see those update emails and double click on them to stay aware of changes. Does anyone know about this? Is there a way to change the settings back to the way it worked in 2003? Thanks! |

Have you checked the options in Tools | Options | Preferences tab | Task
Options? -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "mtbcpa" wrote: We assign tasks. Are there any rules set up which might be actually opening the update e-mails
or processing them in such a way that Outlook thinks they've been opened? Could any 3rd party program be doing the same? -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "mtbcpa" wrote: Yes, I did try that, but I see now option for that. |

I'm not using Exchange and have only *very* recently started using task
requests through a SharePoint site, so I have no idea how it would work for me. If I find out anything else I will post back. -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "mtbcpa" wrote: On Aug 7, 12:50 pm, Jocelyn Fiorello [MVP - Outlook] om wrote: Are there any rules set up which might be actually opening the update e-mails or processing them in such a way that Outlook thinks they've been opened?
