Reading Panes
Hi,
I'm new to Outlook 2007, I do not like the reading panes. I shut the pane off in my inbox and sent box. It seems that each time I create a folder, the reading pane displays. Can I shut that off for all messages? -- Newbee |

You could try customizing the default view to turn the Reading Pane off
(View | Current View | Customize Current View | Other Settings...). -- -Ben- Ben M. Schorr, MVP Roland Schorr & Tower http://www.rolandschorr.com "Newbee" wrote in message ... i'm not sure what you mean. While in the inbox view customize the setting
and then all my new folders will have the same settings? -- Newbee "Ben M. What he describes customizes only the current folder's form. If you use what I suggest, it wil customize the default Message form, which will apply to all folders that use that form (which means new mail folders). -- Brian Tillman |

Brian, thanks for answering Newbee as I asked this question earlier and
received a much more complicated fix to the problem. I didn't even try it. Your suggestion worked great! I thought I would ask about something else, to see if you can help. I have upgraded to 2007 on 2 computers. One of them cannot see new mail in the Inbox if she clicks on Inbox from another folder. Let me explain. She is in another folder besides Inbox when new mail arrives. When she clicks on Inbox it isn't visable. She has to click on any other folder, it doesn't matter which one, and then click on Inbox and then she can see the new mail. Gotta fix for this one? Thanks "Brian Tillman" wrote: Newbee wrote: I'm new to Outlook 2007, I do not like the reading panes. I shut the pane off in my inbox and sent box.
