Hi all,
This morning I upgraded my Windows XP SP2 system that had Office 2003 (Italian language) to Office 2007 (English or multi-language?) During the installation I said to keep the previous Office 2003 installation except Outlook (because otherwise I could not install the 2007 version). On my previous system I had 3 .PST files (an archive one, and 2 "personal folders"), one of the is huge (3.91GB). I read on another post that .PST file bigger than 2Gb can be a problem. It was not for me with Outllok 2003. In fact I doubt that the problem I have is related with the big file. BTW, why doesn't Outlook recognize that the file is becoming to big and don't signal it and, even better, run a wizard to split the data in 2 files? The installation was fast. After the upgrade I opened Outlook and it upgraded. I had the problem that one of the .PST was not in the system, so I easily added it. Now I still have 3 major problems: 1) Send/Receive does NOT work. When I click it, it says "Outlook cannot start because a data file to send and receive mail annot be found. To add a data file, such as a personal folder file, double.click the Icon in the Windows Control Panel" I try to do that and my 3 .pst are there. Furthermore, if I click of receiving email just from an account (Send/ Receive - "My account" Only) I received 2 messages on receiveing and sending: "...reported error (0x8004010F): "The operation failed. An object cannot be found." :-( If I click on "Tools - Account Setting" I can see all my 7 accounts and I can change them if I want. Testing them ("Testing account Setting..." button) they work. However when I click "Change Folder" button and I select a folder and click OK I get the message: "An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x8000ffff" 2) The rules (I had more that 30) has not been imported. If I click on "Tools - Rules and Alerts" the dialog that show up has no rule in the "E.amil Rules" tab. Even worse every button is GRAY (Even "New Rules..." and "Option"). I want my rules back! 3) Activesync doesn't work. I upgraded from 4.1 to 4.5 trying to solve the problem. but still has problems: red exclamation mark. It says "Calendar, Contact, Tasks, Notes: attention required". And there is not really anything I can do about that. I want to get back to Outllok 2003 or better to make it work. I can do some registry editing if necessary but I need some help!!!! Thank you in advance, -Cris |

A pst larger than 2gb, created in unicode, the default format for
OL2003/2007 is not a problem It would be a problem if created in an earlier version, where there is a size limitation. With the mail applet create a new profile, add your accounts & data files. Doesn't exist a way to save me from the pain to manually reconfigure

Nothing much as an uninstall doesnt remove the profile, nor does it effect
the pst files, so if the profile is corrupt it will still be corrupt "Cris" wrote in message ups.com... The profile is stored in the registry
Copying a profile/settings will continue any corruption The profile is not rebuilt as such during any upgrade. Upgrading 2003 to 2007 can, from what has been posted, lead to a corrupt profile Perhaps try a new Profile, set prompt for Profile, and add a single account to check how OL performs with that "Cris" wrote in message ps.com...
