permanent deletion of messages

Does anyone know how to stop "permanently" deleting messages when purging
from the inbox? I just want to send them to a deleted items folder but they
are gone when I delete them and purge. I am using an IMAP account. If deleted
from the web-based email, they go to a deleted folder but on Outlook I can't
find them. In addition, all of my saved folders show up on Outlook but there
is no deleted items folder under my IMAP account...only under the personal
folders...I don't know what to do about losing emails FOREVER simply by
deleting them.

you'd need to move them to another yourself or don't purge - use a view to
hide deleted messages.
