How do I connect to our Microsoft Exchange server for my emails?
I have installed Outlook 2007 and it will not connect to my company's
Exchange server from my house. It will connect though if I'm at the office. My IT guy said everything is configured correctly on my machine. What am I missing? |

It's hard to say wtihout knowing your configuration for remote access. Do you
have a valid internet connection? Are you using VPN? Are you being challenged for your credentials? When your IT person tests your remote access, does it work? Are there any error messages and/or numbers? -- Kathleen Orland - MVP Outlook Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ http://www.howto-outlook.com/ "George Louis" wrote: I have installed Outlook 2007 and it will not connect to my company's Exchange server from my house. I go to account settings and ask it to repair and it comes back with Problem
Connecting to Server. I do have a valid internet connection and have no problem with other internet capabilities. What's VPN? No challenge for credentials. My IT persons says everything is setup correctly. "K. Orland" wrote: It's hard to say wtihout knowing your configuration for remote access. Do you have a valid internet connection? Are you using VPN? Otherwise try Outlook web access.... |

You don't say what version of Exchange is in play here. Your IT person is clearly not competent if he says everything is okay from his end if you cannot connect from your end.

It is likely that they require you to use a VPN and use it when you are home. This is a secure connection to their network so you can get at their internal hosts. Obviously they don't want just any joker wandering in to use their mail server. |

I spoke with my administrator this a.m. and tells me we don't have a VPN. It
still doesn't know why I can connect at the office but not at my home. "VanguardLH" wrote: "George Louis" wrote in message ...
