Little Red X
Hello,
Why do some of my emails in Outlook have just a little red x where a picture or a link should be? How can I fix it so that does not happen? Thanks. |

Make sure that there is a check next to Show Pictures under Contol Panel - Internet Options - Advanced Tab.
If working before you may want to select Restore Defauls. Regards Francine Otterson. Thanks. -- Francine Otterson Microsoft Outlook MVP President, San Diego Outlook User Group I really wish there is a solution to this annoying problem. Mine started in Mid Dec and too late to do a system restore. I have trried every possible setting to no avail. Any picture or link in an HTML E-Mail that starts http//and then a www.link just results in a red X with a "Click to follow Link" if you hover over it. Right clicking only gives you the COPY option Frenchy |

do you have a firewall or antivirus or antispam scanning email? The firewall could be blocking the url, or either of the others breaking it. Well, I have all those prophylactics, but the AV is not scanning E-Mail. I have turned them all off and still the red x's. Note if the Link is a written word hyperlink not a icon/picture then everything works as normal. Frenchy |

I should have added, if I revert to Windows Mail, Live Mail or Thunderbird, then all works as correct, it is just Outlook 2007 that is broken. I have dabbled with Live Mail and have Thunderbird for News Groups. Frenchy |
