Problem Importing data from excel to Outlook 2007 with Business Contact
I have been trying to import contacts from an excel spreadsheet to Business
Manager Outlook 2007 and my attemps have been unsuccessful. I really would appreciate any help or tips on how to manage this operation. thanking you in advance. I got the following response in the Excel Newsgroup: so I thought I would the Outlook newsgroup. With your Contacts info in columns in Excel.................. Name.........Address..........emaoil.........whate ver Save the workbook after giving your list a defined name through InsertNameDefine. Outlook likes that. With Outlook open go to FileImport Export"Import from another program or file" Follow your nose from there to choose your Excel workbook. Note: the mapping can be done while importing. To see the full list of fields Outlook has, export some of your your contacts to a new Excel workbook to get an idea of what's available for mapping. Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP Thanks for your input but I am still having a problem importing my contacts. My spreadsheet is exactly as your sample ie: Name.... Address......phone....etc. but when I try to import the file I get a error window that says "Unable to load File" I'm using Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager. I'm not sure what you mean by giving the list a defined name through InsertNameDefine. could you elaborate please? -- Richard K Mahan Sr "Imagination is the Father of Creativity" |
